KARACHI: Pakistan outplayed low-profile Bahrain 3-0 in classification match to retain ninth position in the Fed Cup Asia Oceania group two which concluded recently on hard court in Hua Hin city of Thailand.

Drawn in pool B, Pakistan could only win one tie against Kyrgyzstan 3-0 and lost 1-2 to Singapore, 0-3 to Malaysia, 0-3 to Indonesia (2) and 0-2 to Sri Lanka to finish fifth among the six teams.

Pool A comprised five teams – Philippines (1), Hong Kong, Pacific Oceania, Iran and Bahrain.

Pakistan bt Bahrain 3-0

Singles: Sarah Mehboob bt N. Redha 6-0, 6-0; Ushna Sohail bt N. Sharif 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: Sara Mansoor and Ushna Sohail bt M. Fardan and N Redha 6-0, 6-0.
