ISLAMABAD: Pakistan expressed on Sunday its dismay and surprise over Indian government’s reaction to the sale of F-16 aircraft to Pakistan.

Responding to media queries over the Indian reaction, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said: “We are surprised and disappointed at the Indian government’s reaction. Their army and arsenal stock is much larger and they are the largest importer of defence equipment.”

With regard to the F-16 sale, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement that Pakistan and the United States closely cooperated in countering terrorism.

The US spokesperson had clearly announced that the sale was to enhance precision strike capability of Pakistan.
