LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Thursday sealed cafeterias of the Sharif Medical Complex and some other hospitals besides taking action against various eateries for flouting hygiene standards.

According to a spokesperson, a PFA team headed by Director (operations) Ms Ayesha Mumtaz sealed the cafeteria of the Sharif Medical City on Raiwind Road. It also sealed the canteens of the Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital, the Doctors Hospital and the Punjab Dental College.

The PFA team sealed production unit of Arabian Delight Sweets on Wahdat Road.

Gulberg Town’s PFA team sealed a restaurant and imposed fine on Zamzam canteens in the Jinnah Hospital and Allama Iqbal Medical College.

Allama Iqbal Town’s team imposed fine on Madni Nihari House and Friends Café, while the officials of Nishtar and Data Ganj Bakhsh towns imposed fine on the canteens at the Wapda Hospital, the Central Park Medical College, the Rashid Latif Hospital, the King Edward Medical College and the Mayo Hospital.

The teams also issued improvement notices to the owners of the food outlets.

SECURITY: The City District Administration on Thursday reviewed security arrangements at colleges for girls. It also directed the college administrations to coordinate with police and the administration on a daily basis.

The team also checked pace of issuance of domiciles to the students.
