ISLAMABAD: Due to the local government elections, there will be no electricity loadshedding in the federal capital until December 1.

An official from Iesco, who was not authorised to speak on record, told Dawn that there will be no loadshedding in the city from 5pm on Sunday to 5am on Tuesday.

He said the decision was taken in order to minimise disturbances to polling and the counting of ballot papers during the elections.

However, residents of F-10 and F-11 sectors on Sunday saw an electricity blackout from 9am to 4pm.

The Iesco official said the electric supply was suspended due to annual maintenance of the grid station.
