Yasir runs through Australia

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq termed the fast-rising leg spinner Yasir Shah a “threat to every team” ahead of their three-Test series against England.

The two sides will meet in a three-match series starting in Abu Dhabi from October 13, and Misbah hopes Shah and slow left-armer Zulfiqar Babar will be able to match the expolits of Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rehman who shared 43 wickets between them in a 3-0 rout of England in 2012.

“The way he's [Yasir] bowling he's a threat to every team.”

“Obviously England know that and he too is aware of it. But it's not just him but all our bowlers have to play their roles and the batsmen must score consistently well.”

Shah has been leading Pakistan's spin attack in Ajmal's abscence, taking 24 wickets in Pakistan's last series in Sri Lanka and climbing to number three in the Test rankings. He now has 61 wickets in only ten Tests.

Australia spin bowling great, Shane Warne, on the upcoming legspin treat

“Yasir Shah's a wonderful legspinner too, I think he's probably the best going around at the moment. When you've got Yasir Shah and Rashid, two good legspinners playing, it's going to make for better cricket.”

Former England cricketer and coach, David Llyod on Yasir

“He will be a massive player because the pitches will be conducive to spin and if we are talking Test cricket then any Test match with a leg-spinner with runs on the board, sun beating down, the pitch gets dry and the spinner turns his arm over..now it’s my turn. I think it’s great to see a leg-spinner and he will be a handful for England because they are notorious against spin if it’s quality,” Llyod told pakpassion.

England batsman, James Taylor on the Yasir threat

“I saw him in the World Cup briefly, but I haven't seen him so much in red-ball cricket. I know he's obviously performed really well recently. It's another challenge we're all looking forward to.”

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
