APROPOS the letter ‘Eateries & e-invoice’ (Oct 7).
I would like to advise and request all citizens that all the diners and customers should not pay sales tax if the restaurant management does not mention the NTN (national tax number) and STN (sales tax number) in their receipts.
Many people I know as well as friends on the social media have shared that restaurants took back the sales tax when they were asked to show their NTN or STN certificates.
If every individual going to a restaurant makes this a practice, not only will the state receive the sales tax, but customers will also not be overcharged in the name of tax.
