BUNER: The district and sessions judge Muzamil Shah Khattak on Wednesday inaugurated a book fair on the premises of the district courts in Daggar. The National Book Foundation organised the fair, displaying about 3000 books of different subjects with 60 per cent discount.

Additional district and sessions judge Dost Mohammad Khan, senior civil judge Mohammad Aasim Khan, civil judge Wajid Ali Khan, NBF’s director Murad Ali Khan Momand, secretary district bar association Abdul Marood Khan, lawyers and media persons were present on the occasion.

Muzamil Khattak said the launching of book fair was an opportunity for the local book lovers to get books of their choice at discounted rates. He said knowledge could be gained through studying books. He regretted that the habit of book reading was dying in the society in the new era of information technology. He termed the trend of avoiding books as harmful for the society and developing countries like Pakistan.

The judge appreciated the organisers and media persons for highlighting the positive activities.

Murad Ali Momand assured to donate books for the local press club, adding a grand book fair would be organised at the district level.
