KARACHI: Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah of Pakistan, and Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams have made impressive gains in the latest ICC ODI player rankings, released at the conclusion of the Zimbabwe-Pakistan series.

Left-armer Wahab has entered the top 50 for the first time in his career after rising four places to 49th position, while leg-spinner Yasir has rocketed 30 places to claim a career-high 72nd spot, the ICC announced on Tuesday.

Williams sits in 51st place in the batting table but has vaulted 21 places to 74th in the bowling chart. This means he has overall gained nine placed in the all-rounders’ category to achieve a career-high 15th spot.

The bowlers’ list is still headed by South Africa’s leg-spinner Imran Tahir, with paceman Mitchell Starc of Australia in the second spot.

In the batting chart, there is no change in the top 25.

However, Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan has slipped four places to 30th, his team-mate Ahmed Shehzad has dropped four places to 32nd and captain Azhar Ali has plunged 10 places to 49th.

Batsmen making upward movements include Sikandar Raza 49th (up by three places), Elton Chigumbura 52nd (up by two places) and Shoaib Malik 82nd (up by eight places).
