KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh on Thursday night claimed to have killed four suspects allegedly involved in the killing of a lawyer in an ‘encounter’ on Northern Bypass near Sohrab Goth, a paramilitary force official said.

The force personnel on a tip-off about presence of suspects allegedly involved in the killing advocate Hasnain Bukhari conducted a surgical operation in Northern Bypass.

On seeing the Rangers, the suspects started firing upon which the Rangers returned fire and during the exchange of fire, four suspects were killed while one Rangers soldier was wounded, said the official.

Identity of the deceased and their affiliation with any group could not be ascertained.

“Rangers have started a new campaign against suspects involved in killing of lawyers, policemen, media persons and innocent citizens,” said the spokesperson.

The official urged citizens to inform about ‘target killers’ and terrorists at their helpline 1101.

Advocate Hasnain Bukhari was killed on March 4, 2015 in Korangi.
