LAHORE: Governor Rafique Rajwana says Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken unprecedented steps to steer the country out of crises by introducing reforms and viable policies.

Addressing the 6th convocation of the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Saturday, he said the nation was facing many problems like terrorism and energy when the PML-N formed the government. He said the government had also taken revolutionary steps to improve the health and education sectors.

He said 60 per cent of the population consisted of young people and the PML-N government had introduced policies to provide them with opportunities to utilise their best abilities and potential.

Mr Rajwana said the KEMU also produced best brains in the form of specialist doctors who were rendering valuable services in the health and education sectors in the country and abroad.

He said the government would continue promoting higher qualification by introducing more reforms in order to meet the shortage of the medics and for the treatment of the ailing people.

He praised medical teachers of the KEMU for producing best and qualified doctors and for promoting higher qualification.

The Punjab governor congratulated a brilliant student Sardar Hassan Ijaz who got 14 gold medals. Some 11 other graduates of his batch also got medals. The graduates were also awarded degrees.
