It's finally happening: popular photo blog 'Humans of New York' (HONY), which documents the stories and experiences of ordinary people in its street portrait series, is coming to Pakistan in August.

This was announced by the blog creator, Brandon Stanton, in a Facebook post today:

This is a wish come true for many Pakistanis. HONY, which has over 14.2 million followers on Facebook and over 3.5 million followers on Instagram, has a big following in Pakistan.

In September last year, Stanton visited India during HONY's 50-day world tour. The HONY-inspired 'Humans of Karachi' Facebook page, run by photographer Khaula Jamil, called for its followers to send a collective shout-out to Stanton, inviting him to Karachi:

And the humans of Karachi were heard. Although Stanton was unable to visit due to visa issues, he made a promise to visit:
