THE Lyari Expressway is still incomplete because of encroachment by the land mafia. Even the Muslim League, the PPP and the MQM could not control the land mafia.
Last year Engineer Sohail Bhatti, who was working on the project, lost his life near NIPA. With all powers bestowed upon Rangers, apparently negotiations are still going on. The law-abiding citizens of Karachi believe that this is a case of now or never for the LEW to be completed.

It seems like it would take another 90 days or so for them to make the track functional from maripur to sohrab Got. I posted suggestions to DIG Motorway on email to make the one way to be opened to cater the traffic from maripur to sohrab got during rush hrs. i.e. from 5-9pm. They practiced the same during ramadan to control the traffic. Why cant they do it until the development of second track.
It has been reported that few vehicles travel from Sohrab Got to maripur during 5-10pm, whereas there are so many people who will be taking this route during rush hours if its open it from the other end.
I would like dawn to raise our voice to respective authorities. I and many of us have already emailed to DIG Motor way, but still waiting for any response. Email ID is n5south@gmail.com
