LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday appointed Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahad Khan Cheema chief executive officer of Quaid-i-Azam Thermal Power (Private) Limited, a company owned by the provincial government.

The company has been established to construct around 1,200MW power generation plant through Liquified Natural Gas near Bhikki on Sheikhupura-Faisalabad Road, according to sources.

Cheema will also continue to work as DG in addition to his new assignment till appointment of some senior official as new LDA chief.
