PESHAWAR: At least one person was killed and five others wounded in a blast reported on the Pakistani side of the Torkham check post at the Pak-Afghan border.

The deceased was identified as a civilian whereas two khasadar personnel and an official belonging to the National Logistics Cell (NLC) were also among the injured

Sources said that the explosives were planted on a handcart which were remotely detonated at the main crossing gate of the Torkham border in Khyber tribal region.

Security and emergency teams were dispatched to the blast site. The wounded were shifted to hospitals in Landi Kotal and Peshawar.

The rush of pedestrians and movement of vehicles on both sides of the border were hampered as the gate was sealed after the blast.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
