KARACHI, Oct 5: A two-day free medical camp was inaugurated by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement at Shah Faisal Colony on Sunday.

The camp was set up in the building of Saba Palace in connection with the 50th birthday celebrations of Muttahida’s chief Altaf Hussain. The camp was visited by thousands of patients, who had been provided with free drugs, stated a press release of the Muttahida.

It stated that adept physicians examined visiting patients and advised them about prevention and precautionary measures against different diseases. The camp was established in coordination with MNA Iqbal Mohammad Ali Khan, Dr Ali Bin Hamid, and Syed Abbas Jaffri. They visited the medical camp, met doctors and reviewed the activities.

On the first day, female general physicians examined 1,500 female patients, male general physicians examined 1,200 patients, eye specialist examined 1,000 patients, gynaecology specialist examined 1,200 patients, paediatric examined 2,000 and E.N.T. specialist checked 500 patients.

Muttahida’s adhoc committee appealed to the residents of Shah Faisal Colony to visit the camp in maximum number to have their medical check-up free.

Meanwhile, a large number of residents in Samoo Goth in Tando Jam, announced their association with the Muttahida. The announcement came after their meeting with the Muttahida’s adhoc committee’s joint in-charge Abdul Haseeb and interior of Sindh’s organizational committee’s joint in-charge Abdul Khaliq Baloch, who were on the visit to the Goth.
