MARDAN: District and Sessions Judge, Mardan, Sajjad Khan on Saturday ordered the officials of city police station to register an FIR against the director and deputy director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (KPHA) for their action to demolish houses in the Defence Colony without any notice.

Haji Masoodur Rahman, a prominent industrialist of Mardan district, has filed a case in the court of the district and sessions judge against the officials of the authority.

The applicant told the court that a team led by KPHA director Ilyas Khan and deputy director Manzoor Hussain had demolished the boundary walls and some other portions of his house and other residential buildings in the Defence Colony under the pretext of anti-encroachment drive without serving them any prior notice.

He said that the KPHA officials had also disconnected their gas, electricity and phone lines, causing trouble and financial loss to them. He said that the action of KPHA officials was illegal and that was why he moved the court against it.
