FAISALABAD: Just a hearing distance from the residence of a PML-N MNA, a state-run primary school is functioning without a boundary wall and basic facilities like potable water and a toilet.

With a strength of over 200 students, the Government Boys Primary School, Chak 267-GB, Samundri, is situated on main Faisalabad-Samundri Road.

Student Noman, 12, said he and his fellows first brought the desks out of their classrooms, set them under the shadow of trees and then started their study.

He said the school had two toilets, one for teachers and the other for students, but they remained closed for the reason best known to the school administration.

“Nearby fields serve the purpose of toilet for students,” he said.

Another student said he was seriously considering leaving the school because it provided no facility of potable water.

He said a water tank had been installed, but its water was not consumable and students had to rely on water of the hand-pump installed by some local people.

Abdul Rasheed, the resident of a nearby locality, said the school had no boundary wall for years.

He said neither any politician nor any official concerned took notice of the situation as the safety of students was more demanding after the attack on a Peshawar school.
