22 lynching suspects on physical remand

LAHORE: The district and sessions court on Saturday sent 22 suspects allegedly involved in the lynching incident in Youhanabad on a three-day physical remand.

Police produced the suspects before the sessions judge due to unavailability of the anti-terrorism court judge concerned due to a meeting at the Lahore High Court regarding performance of special courts and police.

Police produced suspects, including Aslam Sahutra, Salamat Masih, Chand, Hameed, Ilyas Masih, Fiaz Masih, Anmol and Liaqat, before the district and sessions court and sought their 20-day physical remand.

DSJ Tariq Iftikhar Ahmed handed over the suspects into police custody on a three-day physical remand.

Nishtar Colony police have so far produced 69 suspects involved in lynching, damaging public private property and harassing a woman car rider before the anti-terrorism court and the sessions court to get their physical remand to complete interrogation.

Police on Wednesday had produced 47 suspects before the ATC for physical remand.
