QUETTA: The Inspector General Frontier Corps, Maj Gen Sher Afgun, has asked area commanders of law-enforcement agencies to keep a vigilant eye on law and order and remain in close contact with people to deal with outlaws effectively.

Presiding over a conference attended by security officials from the FC, police and civil administration on Friday, he said that in order to maintain law and order close coordination was needed among various security institutions.

The conference revie­wed overall security situation in the province and made various decisions about professional matters, skill and training of security personnel and protection of border areas.

Gen Afgun said that FC would continue to take steps and extend help and cooperation to civilian institutions in the province. “Officers of all law-enforcement agencies and civil administration should adopt an integrated strategy to find out supporters, facilitators and financers of terrorists among common people and in government institutions.”

During the second session of the conference, performance of the FC and professional matters were discussed and Gen Afgun asked the officials concerned to ensure merit while making recruitment in the FC.

The officers who attended the conference included DIG Frontier Brigadier Tahir Mehmood, Sector Commander North Brig Arshad Mehmood, Commander South Brig Allah Nawaz, Divisional Commissioners Kambir Dashti, Dr Akbar Herifal, Muhammad Fawad and Ghulam Ali Baloch,

Regional Police Officers Mouzzam Jah, Mazhar Baloch, Shakeel Durrani and Itizaz Gurayia.
