ISLAMABAD: A man and his teenage daughter were found dead in front of their residence on Thursday, police said.

There is no eyewitness to the incident which occurred at the I&T Centre, G-8/4, but it seems the man murdered his daughter and then committed suicide, the police added.

The four-member family lived in a flat at the centre. The preliminary police investigation showed that the wife and a son of the deceased man heard two gunshots and found the bodies in front of the main door.

The police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to hospital. The police said Aleena Ibqal, 18, suffered a bullet injury to the heart while another bullet hit her father Mohammad Iqbal, 60, in the head.

The police also found a pistol near the bodies which was owned by Mr Iqbal. But it is yet to be established if it was the murder weapon.

The police said before the killing, the girl opened the door of the flat and stepped out while her father came from outside. So far the family members have not shared any dispute between the father and daughter with the police.
