RAWALPINDI: President Mamnoon Hussain said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Day parade had united the nation, adding that the successful holding of the event would go a long way in projecting the positive image of the country.

He was speaking at a luncheon reception held at the venue of Shakarparian parade ground for the participants of Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade. President Hussain was the chief guest.

Appreciating the immaculate standard of the March 23 mega event, he said that holding of the parade after a gap of seven years was reflection of national resolve against terrorism and extremism.

He said that successful holding of the parade had united the nation, adding that it would indeed go a long way in projecting the positive image of the country.

According to a press release, he paid tribute to those who lost their lives and suffered injuries in defence of the motherland.
