Javed Sheikh fans will see him in another boisterous role this summer, as his next film Halla Gulla is expected to be released in mid-2015.

TV director Kamran Akbar Khan is making his film debut with this romantic comedy, which also stars Ismail Tara, Sidra Batool, Asim Mehmood, Muneed and Ghazala Javed. The film has been produced by Hanif Mohammad, who is known for producing the comedy competition TV show, Comedy Kings.

Going by the behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, the film appears to be centered around a wedding. With music by Sahir Ali Bagga and a soundtrack that boasts the likes of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, it seems the colourful film may not only be a visual feast, but also music to the ears.

The movie's story has been written by Raheela Mustaq Shah, while the screenplay has been penned by the director himself.

Although some have drawn comparisons between Halla Gulla and Na Maloom Afraad, the director had earlier made it clear that the film has been shot only in ‘posh areas’ of Karachi and should definitely not be considered NMA’s sequel.
