KARACHI: A young man was shot dead and two others were hurt when they were targeted by armed riders of a motorcycle in Saudabad on Sunday evening, according to police.

The victims were sitting outside a cable operator’s office in Shadman Town when the assailants opened fire on them and fled, said police.

They sustained critical injuries and were taken to JPMC where doctors declared Imran Abbas, 30, dead on arrival.

Dr Seemin Jamali, head of the emergency department, said that Mohammed Babar, 40, and Farhan, 32, the other two who were hurt in the attack were admitted for treatment.

The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained immediately.
