KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Thursday an emergency shutdown of all compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations for Sunday (March 1).

According to a notification issued by the gas utility, the company is undertaking a job of hooking up its main transmission network with the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd system for transmitting the upcoming imported liquified natural gas (LNG).

“During this operation, SSGC will be facing a shortfall of 120 MMCFD gas in its network for 48 hours.

Therefore, all CNG stations in Sindh will remain closed from 8am on Sunday till 8am on Monday,” said the notification.
