KARACHI: Simon Morris struck a match-winning half-century to steer KGA Gymkhana to a comfortable five-wicket victory over Fazal Hussain Memorial CC in their KCCA President Cup match at the KGA Gymkhana Ground here on Tuesday.

Morris banged 12 boundaries in making 68 as KGA Gymkhana reached their modest target of 173 in the 29th over for loss of five wickets. All-rounder Imran Bashir made 23 while Jonathan Rodrigues scored 27.

Slow left-armer Mohammad Shani captured three wickets for 35 runs and Wasim Khan two for 40.

Earlier, Fazal Hussain Memorial CC were restricted to 172-9 in the stipulated 45 overs with Tariq Ahmed contributing 67 that included four fours. Wasim Khan hit six boundaries in his knock of 40.

Imran excelled with his off-spinners by taking three wickets for 29 runs and Mario Rodrigues two for 33.

In a low-scoring fixture at the Pak Star Ground, Airport Star CC whipped Pakistan Stallions CC by a convincing margin of nine wickets.
