TOBA TEK SINGH: A fire gutted an LPG cylinder shop on Toba-Gojra Road near Trandi locality here on Friday.

Police said shop owner Ramzan was illegally decanting gas from a cylinder when it caught fire due to leakage. Swift shifting of gas cylinders from the shop saved them from exploding which otherwise would cause a disaster.

However, the fire engulfed the shop and reduced it to ashes.

DEMO: Scores of people, including women, of different localities of Kamalia demonstrated on Friday near Old General Bus Stand on Chichawatni-Faisalabad Road for over two hours in protest against the suspension of gas.

The protesters chanted slogans against the SNGPL authority.

They dispersed when police officials assured them that SNGPL officials of Faisalabad would be conveyed about their problem.

THREE BUTCHERS HELD: Veterinary officer Dr Fazalur Rehman along with a police party on Friday raided the house of a butcher in Rehmat Town at Pirmahal and recovered 250 kilo meat of dead animals.

Police arrested three butchers while their two accomplices managed to escape. The arrested butchers were sent behind the bars while the recovered meat was destroyed by the staff of Livestock Department.
