ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif convened a meeting of corps commanders on Friday at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The meeting was held to review the progress of ongoing military operations, Zarb-i-Azb and Khyber-1, against militants in Pakistan's northwestern tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

The plan for rehabilitation and return of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) was also discussed during the meeting.

Gen Raheel underlined the need for preparation and integration of efforts with federal and provincial governments for safe and dignified return of all displaced families to their homes.

The army chief took commanders into confidence over his trip to the US and meeting with military and political leadership there and termed it successful and said misconceptions about Pakistan's role in war against terrorism were removed.
