KARACHI: Karachi Blues outplayed Karachi Whites by 67 runs to win the best-of-three Disabled Cricket Series here on Wednesday.

In the final, which was held on the International Day for Disabled Persons at the RLCA Ground in Gulberg, Karachi Whites rattled up 231-6in the allotted 40 overs.

Openers Waheed Khan and Arif Richard shared a splendid partnership of 90. Waheed hit 52 off 61 balls with five boundaries, while Richard scored 51 from 68 deliveries with the aid of five fours. Wicket-keeper Danish Ahmed contributed a quick 49 on 33 balls with the aid of seven fours.

Rao Javed bowled to claim three wickets for 52 runs with his off-spinners.

Karachi Whites, in reply, were dismissed for 164 in 32.3 overs with skipper Rao Javed scoring 38 off 49 balls with three fours. Ameer Ahmed made 35 off 36 balls with four hits to the fence.

Chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) Junaid Ashraf Talo was chief guest at the prize-giving ceremony which was also graced by Hanif Memon, Hassan Bakhshi, Rameez Ghaziani, PDCA president Saleem Karim, Amiruddin Ansari and Mohammad Nizam.

Arif Richard was declared man-of-the-match, Waheed Khan got the best batsman award, Fazal Hadi the best bowler and Haroon Rashid was adjudged the best fielder.
