KARAK: The internally displaced persons of North Waziristan held a demonstration in Latamber here on Sunday to protest non-provision of food items and financial assistance.

The protesters, who gathered in the football ground, said that they were living in miserable conditions, but the concerned authorities ignored their plight.

The IDP elders said that the government should work out a mechanism to provide them food items and cash assistance so they could feed their families. They said they had no money to buy food items and other necessities of life.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have detected a racket involved in stealing crude oil from the main supply line from Nashpa oil fields to the central processing facility in Makori.

Police sources said that after thorough investigations they found the place where the accused used to steal crude oil from the main supply line through a secret connection. The Banda Daud Shah police registered case against unidentified persons and started further investigation.
