KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui has called for strict action against the government officials concerned and the contractors working on flyover projects at Malir Halt and Malir 15 for slow pace or stoppage of work.

A statement issued on Thursday said the commissioner issued the directive at a meeting at the commissioner’s office while expressing dissatisfaction over the work on the projects.

He said that delay in completion of projects within scheduled time not only escalated the cost but also multiplied hardships for the people living in the vicinity of the projects’ sites.

He said the projects on Sharea Faisal were very important because they connected the metropolis with the rest of the country through the National Highway.
