ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started beautification and maintenance work of the Red Zone.

Talking to APP, the Deputy Director General Environment wing of the CDA, Sardar Irfan said that precious imported plants and green belts of the falling in the zone were damaged by the protesters during their sit-in.

He said the beauty of the capital had been adversely affected due to the sit-ins.

Besides, various diseases were spreading around Red Zone. He said that several patients had been admitted in the hospitals of Islamabad .

Irfan said that Islamabad was the most beautiful capital of South Asia but due to recent sit-ins its beauty, roads, landscaping and footpaths were totally destroyed.

He said the CDA had deployed 200 employees for restoration of the beauty and maintenance of city adding that the authority would complete its work within a week.
