LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar M. Khan has congratulated Younis Khan on achieving two significant landmarks on the opening day of the ongoing Test against Australia in Dubai.

On scoring the 25th Test century of his career at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, Younis joined former captain and batting maestro Inzamam-ul-Haq at the top of Pakistan’s Test century makers’ list.

Younis’ century also gave him the rare distinction of being the first Pakistani, and 12th player in international cricket, to have scored a hundred against all nine Test-playing nations.

When the Board of Governors (BoG) met here at the NCA on Wednesday, at the very outset the BoG members expressed their delight at Younis’ signal achievement, and congratulated him on his performance, it was stated in a press statement.

PCB chairman was quoted as saying: “Younis’ knock was brilliant, and it created a platform for the middle- and late-order to consolidate Pakistan team’s position. I also wish to congratulate Younis on the major personal milestones that he achieved [with the century in Dubai]. I also hope that he retains this form through the season to provide stability to Pakistan’s middle order.”
