KARACHI: Up and coming pugilists representing eight units, including three departments, will show their prowess when they feature in the all-Sindh Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) boxing tournament which takes place at Mirpurkhas from Nov 18 to 20, organisers said on Thursday.

The teams that will compete in the event include Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, Pakistan Rangers Sindh, National Bank of Pakistan and Sindh Police.

Hosts Mirpurkhas and Pakistan Rangers Sindh will field two teams apiece in the competition.

Sindh Boxing Association (SBA) secretary, Asghar Baloch, disclosed the sponsors are expected to spend approximately Rs300,000 on hosting the event.

The winners will be awarded Rs3,000 apiece while the runner-up gets Rs2,000 each.

Last date for submission of entries to the SBA is Nov 15.

Meanwhile, two-day all-Karachi National Bank of Pakistan Allama Iqbal boxing tournament takes place at Peoples Sports Complex from Nov 8.

To be held in juniors and youth classes, the event will form basis for selection of Karachi team for the Mirpurkhas event.
