SHEIKHUPURA: Police arrested an imposter on Tuesday who wanted the district police officer to transfer investigation of a case.

According to police, Sabir Shah, a resident of Cheechawatni, approached the DPO and introduced himself as an army major. He asked the DPO to change investigation officer in a case.

The DPO became suspicious and contacted the army battalion the ‘major’ was claiming to be from to confirm his identity.

On being informed there was no such army officer, the DPO ordered the B Division police to arrest the imposter.

Safia Bibi, a resident of Manoabad, had strained relationship with her husband.

Yet another quarrel between the couple proved tipping point for Safia who ended her life by taking poisonous pills used for killing wheat pests.

Muridke Saddar police are looking into the mater.
