Mehreen Jabbar, the name behind the famous dramas such as Rehaai, Daam and the internationally renowned film Raamchand Pakistani, is all set to engross the audience with her upcoming drama Jackson Heights. The drama is expected to air from 15th September on channel Urdu1, Jabbar posted on her Facebook page.

Produced under Six Sigma Plus, the drama revolves around obstacles faced by overseas Pakistanis and is being shot in New York. The title is based on a neighborhood, Jackson heights, which is located in the northwestern portion of the New York City borough of Queens.

The cast includes Nauman Aijaz, Amina Sheikh, Marina Khan, Adeel Hussain and Adnan Jaffar.

While Nauman Aijaz plays the role of a jubilant cabbie, Adeel Hussain’s character is that of a typical Pakistani who arrives in America with the hope to live the American Dream. Marina Khan is a Christian woman running a restaurant and Amina Sheikh works at a salon. Ali Kazmi is also making a comeback after five years with a role of a conman.

The drama is scripted by Vasay Chaudry who has also written the script of famous shows like College Jeans, Jutt and Bond and the hit film Main Hoon Shahid Afridi.
