STA ranking event from Sept 1

KARACHI: The Sindh Tennis Association (STA) will organise the 11th Pizza Hut Open National Ranking Tennis Championship from Sept 1 in the metropolis.

The tournament carries prize money of Rs75,000.

National ranking contests to be held in the event include under-17 singles and doubles, girls under-18 singles, boys under-16 singles, boys under-14 singles, boys under-12 singles, 35-plus singles and 45-plus doubles.

Meanwhile men’s singles and doubles will be played at the Sindh ranking events.

Two events for special athletes will also be held during the championship. Para Sports Pakistan will assist in these two events.

All outstation players will get a daily allowance of Rs400 until elimination and all main draw players will get economy class railway fare both ways.

Last date for entry is Aug 30. Entries can be sent to Khalid Rehmani at sindhtennis@gmail.com or 0300-3607209. All outstation players should send their entries through their respective provincial or district tennis associations

Khawaja Saeed Hai is the president of organising committee while members are Naheed Memon, Gulzar Firoz and Mushtaq Ahmed.

Khalid Rehmani is the tournament director and referee while Sarwar Hussain is the media coordinator.
