MURREE: Five people were killed when a passenger coach fell into a ravine at Malot Sattian, near Kotli Sattian, after its brakes failed.

Nine people were seriously injured, Rescue 1122 sources said.

The vehicle was en route to Bagh in Azad Kashmir, from Rawalpindi via Kotli Sattian and Taeen Talkot route.

The locals started rescue work and called Rescue 1122.

By the time the team arrived, the locals had already shifted four bodies and seven injured to Rawalpindi.

According to area residents, most of the vehicles on this road do not follow rules and regulations.

Speeding is common as there is no police maintaining traffic in this remote area, they said, adding that this was the main reason for so many accidents in the area.
