MINGORA: A special anti-terrorism court on Saturday awarded 19 years imprisonment to a man in a case of possessing explosives.

According to sources, Chaligai police arrested Dildar alias Umar Zada on February 10 and recovered detonators and explosives from his possession. They added that police produced the accused before the local anti-terrorism court.

“The court awarded 14 years imprisonment to the miscreant under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, four years under the explosives act and one month jail under section 13 of AO,” added the sources.

Meanwhile, the body of a 17-year-old girl, Nageena, was exhumed for postmortem at far-flung Sambat area in Matta tehsil on Saturday.

The girl’s parents had claimed that their daughter committed suicide on July 19, but upon suspicion the police requested the local court to allow them to exhume the body for investigation.

Matta judicial magistrate Navid Ali Khan oversaw the exhumation of the body in a local graveyard.

A police official said that lady doctor Salma Ikram carried out the postmortem on the body and sent the report to Islamabad for medical findings.

Meanwhile, another dengue case was detected on Saturday at Saidu Teaching Hospital, taking the number of dengue patients during the current season to 38.

According to hospital sources, Bakht Meena, 27, of Skha Cheena, Mingora, tested positive for dengue fever, who was under treatment at the hospital.

The sources said that all other dengue patients had been discharged from the hospital after completion of treatment.
