There were 'others' close to Zardari who knew about NRO: Qureshi

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Wednesday that there were other people also who knew about the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and were close to the former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, DawnNews reported.

He further said that he was unaware of the deal despite of being the foreign minister at the time and added that Safdar Abbasi might have better information over the deal.

Qureshi claimed that Zardari has gone to Washington to check the status of the NRO deal adding that the deal, for which the Unites States was a guarantor, had ensured the cancellation of corruption charges against the former president.

PTI vice-chairman questioned that if the statement issued by Shehla Raza was based on truth then would the army be allowed to impose martial law on the fourth democratic term.

Qureshi also said that law must be equal for everyone and that PTI would not be a part of any deal in relation with Pervez Musharraf.

And some of those who knew were with the ruling parties and now some of them are with PTI and leaders of PTI trying to avenge their affiliation to NRO and look who is disclosing the NRO???

NRO was a disgrace and zardari is off to USA to greet his masters and beg before them to remember the deal that they made regarding his corruption cases and helo him get in power for the next term. Shame. Democracy should prevail but not like this farce of one!

I do not what is worse, Qureshi knowing or being part of NRO and still supporting Zardari or his total lack of knowledge of the NRO deal which saw the cases of 8000 of his co-politicians, some very close to him, fall away which makes him total incompetent considering the high post he had. Pakistan is in the need of new untainted blood. But most of all a new corrupt free system of governance which places the Pakistani people in center instead of the corrupt.

NRO.?? if someone did something against the law , even the slightest crime, it should be punishable. rather than adding nice abbreviation to the dictionary like NRO xyz and getting away with it
