LAHORE: Health Secretary Dr Ijaz Munir has issued instructions for the posting of doctors at Government Shahdara Teaching Hospital to make its all departments fully functional by Aug 15.

Presiding over a meeting to review the pace of development work at Government Shahdara Teaching Hospital on Monday, he ordered posting of doctors first in gynae, ICU, anesthesia, nursery and orthopedics departments to cover the shortage of medics.

Fatima Jinnah Medical College/Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Principal Prof Dr Fakhar Imam, Health Additional Secretary Health (Development) Ghulam Farid, Deputy Secretary (Admn) Raja Mansoor, Deputy Secretary General Dr Shoaib Anwar, Deputy Secretary (Budget & Accounts) Sarfraz Ahmad and Government Shahdara Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Naeem attended the meeting.

The health secretary said Government Shahdara Hospital was providing healthcare facilities not only to the people of Shahdara but also to thousands of people of adjoining areas, and its performance would further improve after posting of doctors on vacant seats.
