LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore has divided the on-going anti-dengue drive in four parts, directing the officials to follow the new plan in letter and spirit.

“From Wednesday (today), the drive will be undertaken in four phases. In phase-1 awareness campaign on dengue precautionary measures will be launched that will be followed by an effective dengue surveillance in phase-2, dengue elimination through fumigation in phase-3 and treatment of the dengue patients in phase-4,” Lahore District Coordination Officer Ahmad Javed Qazi said while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday.

He said there would be a ban on wearing half-sleeve shirts by the students during the drive.

He directed the cooperatives and sports district officers to check the city’s 70 cooperative housing societies and 54 playgrounds personally and ensure cleanliness there.

He asked the social welfare forest district officers to submit a list of 800 registered volunteers to his office to drain out the accumulated rainwater in all nurseries and greenbelts.

APPOINTMENT: In order to deal with the public complaints regarding price hike and take action against the profiteers, the CDGL on Tuesday appointed various officers as in-charges of nine Sahoolat Bazaars set-up at town level.

According to a notification, Rana Mehtab, DO (Fisheries), Muhammad Shahid (DO-Accounts), Anwarul Haq (DO-Forest), Muhammad Iqbal (DO-Cooperative), Faiz Naeem Warraianch (DO-Social Welfare), Muhammad Ayub Chaudhry (DO-Food), Muhammad Shabbir (DO-Public Facility), Ghulam Hussain (DO-Livestock) and Chaudhry Naeem (DO-Labour) have been appointed at Wahga, Samanabad, Ravi, Nishtar, Gulberg, Iqbal, Shalimar, Aziz Bhatti and Data Ganj Bakhsh towns, respectively, for the purpose.

DIRECTIONS: Lahore Commissioner Rashid Mehmood Langrial in a meeting on Tuesday directed the DCOs of Lahore, Nankana, Sheikhupura and Kasur districts to visit the on-going development schemes twice in a week and submit reports to him on a weekly basis.
