FATEHJANG: The employees of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) have been working on a contract basis, since 1996, and have not been given any pay raise since 2003.
This was said by the TEVTA employees’ union, while commenting on a notification issued by the chief secretary of Punjab, on August 19, last year.
The notification stated that the employees of all the departments, who are working on a contract since 1996, shall be made permanent TEVTA employees.
TEVTA employees’ union criticised the said notification, and said that the TEVTA employees possess the degrees of BA and BSc and they are graduates of electrical and mechanical engineering, which is a three years course. The TEVTA employees union demanded the chief minister of Punjab to further investigate the matter.
