KARACHI: At least three people were killed and four others were injured, including two policemen, in separate incidents of violence in Karachi on Friday, DawnNews reported.

Two policemen were injured when an unknown miscreant hurled a cracker at Pirabad police station in district west.

The injured policemen were identified as Mohammad Ashfaq and Mohammad Faisal.

The assailant escaped after the attack.

A search was underway to apprehend the suspect.

Meanwhile, during a clash between two groups in Lyari’s Chakiwara area, a Chippa ambulance driver, Lal Muhammad, and a woman identified as Naseema were killed.

Moreover, panic gripped the area due to the firing between the two groups.

In another incident, a suspicious explosion occurred in a house in Manghopir Mianwali area, leaving two people injured.

Whereas, in Karachi’s Landhi Labour Square area, a suspect named Siddique urf Commando was killed in a police encounter. Moreover, explosives, arms and ammunition were also recovered from him.

Upon receiving a tip-off about suspects’ whereabouts, Rangers’ personnel conducted a door-to-door targeted operation in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area and detained over 300 suspects with the help of sniffer dogs.

Four hundred security personnel, including female policemen, also took part in the operation.
