CLOUDY With A Chance of Meatballs 2 is a sequel to the movie of the same name and picks up from where the last one stopped. Inventor Flint’s (Bill Hader) invention had flopped in the last movie and the beautiful island of Swallow Falls had so much food rain down on it that it had become totally unfit to live in.

Now outside help is sought to clean up the mess and super inventor Chester V (Will Forte) is assigned the task. Flint is invited to be part of the team and he is thrilled because he considers Chester as his idol. There are several twists and turns in the plot, some cute and some crazy, as Chester’ real selfish intentions in clearing up the island is really to get his hands on Flint’s lost food machine that led to the food rain.

The food that rained on the island has now turned into foodimals — food animals — such as monstrous cheeseburgers, humanoid pickles, cheespider and cute marshmallows. And these living food animals have a vast habitat on the island. When Flint and friends find out that Chester really intends to find Flint’s food machine to come up with a line of new kinds of food items made from these foodimals, they set about to stop him.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a colourfully animated film with loads of adventure and perilous situations that most children will find amusing. There is enough humour and wackiness for adults to enjoy it too.
