THE Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, announced various vacancies in different departments in August last year. I applied for the post of a lecturer in English (BPS-18).

As usual, after applying anywhere the next thing to do is to wait to be called for a written test, and so did I.

As the wait seemed to be longer than expected, I called up the registrar to ask about the fate of our applications.

I was told that the process would take some time and that a call letter would be sent as soon as all the formalities were met.

It is more than a year now since I applied for the aforementioned post, I am still waiting to be called for the test. Moreover, the address from which I sent documents has also been changed because of shifting of residence.

I take a chance here to ask the university authorities that how long will it take to complete the required process? What hindrances are there which are making the task of shortlisting candidates so difficult that it has not been completed in a year?

How will I get the call letter, if it is sent some day? I request the authorities concerned to take notice of this issue and do something to end our endless wait.

Four hundred seats?

Four hundred seats?

The mix of divisive cultural politics and growth-oriented economics that feeds Hindu middle-class ambition and provides targeted welfare are key ingredients in the BJP’s political trajectory.
