ISLAMABAD: Earthquake shocks were felt across northern areas of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Buner and other surrounding areas, DawnNews reported.

The earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was located in the Hindukush mountain range at a depth of 179 kilometers, according to the met office.

Fear and panic gripped the affected areas as people left their houses and workplaces and headed out for open spaces.
