Water crisis

Published June 17, 2013

I AM a resident of Rawalpindi Cantonment and would like to highlight the inadequate supply of water in the area. Residents of Tariqabad are bearing the scorching heat and there is no electricity or water either.

Residents comprise both upper and middle classes. People made efforts to solve this problem by approaching the relevant authorities, sending them applications and visiting their offices many times but all in vain.

It is okay for those who can afford to buy water on a daily basis but it is the poor who are facing the brunt of this shortage, though they have been regularly paying heavy bills for water.

The authorities concerned must pay immediate attention to this problem.
