LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan is “highly unlikely” to attend the oath taking ceremony during the National Assembly session, which was summoned for June 1 after approval from President Asif Ali Zardari, said PTI leader Asad Umar.

Speaking to journalists on Monday night, he said that doctors have recommended a further week-long bed-rest to Khan, who had sustained severe injuries to his head and back when he fell from a fork-lift during an election rally earlier in the month.

Umar said the PTI chief will take his MNA oath after full recovery.

Commenting on the prevailing power crisis in the country, he said national issues such as the electricity shortages should not be politicised. “We will extend an all out support to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) if it asks for the PTI help on the issue,” said Umar.
