PESHAWAR: Militants attacked a security checkpost in Bannu’s Janikhel area on Sunday injuring two security personnel deputed at the checkpost whereas security forces defused a bomb in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A security checkpost came under attack by unknown persons in Janikhel tehsil of Bannu district near Peshawar in the early hours of Sunday, injuring two personnel performing duties at the checkpost.

Police and security back up forces reach the site of attack and cordoned off the area as a search operation went underway in the area.

In another incident security forces defused a roadside-planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED), weighing 10 kilograms, in Karboga Sharif area of Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
