ISLAMABAD, May 21: Veteran journalist and former bureau chief of daily Dawn Islamabad Hasan Akhter was deprived of his car by auto-thieves in the capital city on Tuesday.

His driverv arrived at Blue Area in the 1995 Corolla (AB-1517) and parked the car along the roadside. He went to deposit a bill, but when he returned after about 10 minutes, he found the car missing.

The driver informed a policeman on duty near a bakery who alerted the patrolling teams. The police personnel deployed at all the checkpoints in the city were also alerted but the car remained untraceable.—Staff Reporter
